A couple of weeks ago, Coach Gill, of Benedictine College Preparatory, began to make at-home workouts for the soccer team. These workouts, however, are not being held in person, but they are merely an instructional video for each Cadet. Every week a Cadet is expected to submit his own video of himself completing the workout and, once they submit the video, Coach Gill will "shout out" the player who has done the best workout.
"These workouts are no joke," said Ben Marks '23. "If we do these workouts over the summer, then we can really hit the ground running in the fall."
The soccer season at Benedictine is on track to begin August 5 but, as of now, the players on the team are prohibited from doing any type of summer workout together. So in place of these summer workouts, the videos that are being shared every week are preparing the team for the fall just like the summer workouts would prepare the Cadets. "It is crucial for the players to be practicing at home," said Coach Gill. "If everyone is doing the videos, and conditioning on their own it will help us prevail in the fall."
